Site of the Day:

Holy. Smokes.

How is NOT blowing up every community I'm a part of?

I found this morning while looking for gaming resources for a team of high school teachers. And I'm blown away. What is it?
"Sophia makes it easier than ever to flip your classroom with our free teacher tools for blended learning. Transform your classroom into an active learning environment with our groups, quizzes, and tutorials features. You can also track student progress every step of the way with our data and analytics. Additionally, we offer awesome ways to continue your professional development.
And it’s all free." [source]
Did you see that last line? Yes, free! I'm really surprised, given how comprehensive the site is. has a wide range of standards-aligned content for both the NGSS and Common Core standards that you can assign to students via groups. You can create tutorials, resources, content, and pretty much anything you can think of right within their site. And they also have analytics tools to get instant feedback from students to see where they are right now based on what they are working on right now. The delay in feedback in one common issue with standardized testing or manually grading assessments. What do I need to be working on or do I need to work with this student on to help them understand better? Do you have a struggling student? has Path-o-logic to help them get back on track by offering different methods of getting the same content.

Beyond the classroom, they also have a TON of free professional development and webinars. They have CEUs available and certificate programs in flipped classrooms, iPad prepared, Chrome Classroom and Virtual Classroom. The real question is, which one do I try first?!?

Obviously you need to go check out the Sophia site to really see what they offer. If you do, let me know and let's talk about it!
