I'm the technology coach for grades 6 to 12 for MSAD #6 here in gorgeous Maine. I have been working in the district since I was in college when I started as a long term sub during the second semester of the 2005-2006 school year. After spending 7.5 years at the graphic arts teacher at the high school, I made the jump to the (new) technology coach position starting during the 2013-2014 school year. I swear it is my dream job!
So, as I jump around between the two schools, I feel it's important for you to get to know me a bit better. I live in the district with my husband, daughter, and our "furry" baby. When not in school, I also run my own photography business, which I started back in 2008. Technology has always been close to my heart and I've never lived in a home without a computer (yes, we even had one when I was born).
During my time in the classroom, I moved all of my courses to be run through an almost paperless environment thanks to integrating Moodle, OpenClass, and Instructure's Canvas at various points (I bounced around a lot). I have always been looking for ways to integrate technology in to my classroom to improve the educational experience for my students and to also improve my own workflow. I am excited that I'll get to help others do the same!
As for my own educational background, I earned my B.S. in Technology in Education in 2006 from the University of Southern Maine and my M.Ed. in Technology Education in 2001 from Lesley University. I hold both a #700 Technology Education and a #680 Computer Education certification in the State of Maine.
Have a great year!
